Here’s how to set up your Canon G2200 printer:

1. Unboxing and Initial Setup

  • Unbox the printer and remove all protective packaging and tape.
  • Plug in the printer and press the Power button to turn it on.

2. Filling the Ink Tanks

  • Open the ink tank cover located on the front of the printer.
  • Remove the cap on each ink tank (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow).
  • Carefully fill each tank using the provided ink bottles:
    • Open each ink bottle, align it with the corresponding tank, and gently squeeze until the tank is full.
  • Close the ink tank cover once all tanks are filled.

3. Installing Ink Cartridges

  • Open the front cover to access the cartridge holder.
  • Unpack the black and color ink cartridges.
  • Insert each cartridge into its designated slot and press down until it clicks.
  • Close the front cover and allow the printer to initialize.

4. Loading Paper

  • Pull up the rear paper support.
  • Load plain paper (usually A4 or Letter size) and adjust the paper guides to fit snugly around the paper.
  • Extend the output tray at the front of the printer.

5. Connecting the Printer (USB Only)

  • The Canon G2200 only supports a USB connection.
  • Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable (provided or sold separately).

6. Installing Drivers and Software

  • Visit the Canon Support Page and search for Canon G2200.
  • Download and install the drivers and Canon IJ Scan Utility for scanning functionality.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

7. Printing a Test Page

  • After setup, print a test page to confirm everything is working correctly.
