Here’s a guide to setting up your Canon G1200 printer:
1. Unboxing and Initial Setup
- Unbox the printer and remove all packaging materials and tape.
- Plug in the printer and press the Power button to turn it on.
2. Filling the Ink Tanks
- Open the ink tank cover located on the front side of the printer.
- Remove the caps on each of the ink tanks (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow).
- Carefully fill each ink tank using the corresponding ink bottle:
- Open each ink bottle, align it with the tank’s nozzle, and gently squeeze until it’s full.
- Close the ink tank cover and make sure the ink bottles are stored safely.
3. Loading Paper
- Pull out the rear paper tray.
- Load plain paper (typically A4 or Letter size) and adjust the paper guides to fit the paper snugly.
- Ensure the output tray is extended.
4. Installing the Printer Driver
- Visit the Canon Support Page and search for Canon G1200.
- Download and install the driver for the G1200 model.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
5. Connecting the Printer (USB Only)
- The Canon G1200 only supports a USB connection.
- Connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable (provided or sold separately).
- The printer should automatically detect the connection if the driver is installed correctly.
6. Printing a Test Page
- After setup, print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly. This will confirm the ink levels are adequate and that the paper is loaded properly.
