Here’s how to set up your Canon GX3020 printer:

1. Unboxing and Initial Setup

  • Unbox the printer and remove all protective packaging and tape.
  • Plug in the printer and press the Power button to turn it on.
  • Set your language on the printer display if prompted.

2. Filling the Ink Tanks

  • Open the ink tank cover on the front of the printer.
  • Unscrew the caps of the ink tanks (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow).
  • Carefully fill each ink tank using the corresponding ink bottles:
    • Open the ink bottle, align it with the tank nozzle, and gently squeeze the bottle until the tank is full.
  • Close the ink tank cover once the tanks are filled.

3. Loading Paper

  • Pull out the rear paper tray.
  • Load plain paper (usually A4 or Letter size) and adjust the paper guides to fit snugly around the paper.
  • Extend the output tray at the front.

4. Connecting the Printer

  • Wireless Setup:
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking.
    • Download and install the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app on your smartphone or computer for easy wireless setup.
    • Follow the prompts in the app to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  • USB Setup (optional):
    • If you prefer a wired connection, connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable (sold separately).
    • The printer will be detected automatically once the driver installation is completed.

5. Installing Drivers and Software

  • Visit the Canon Support Page and search for Canon GX3020.
  • Download the drivers and Canon IJ Scan Utility for scanning and additional functions.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process, selecting your connection type (Wi-Fi or USB).

6. Printing a Test Page

  • Once the setup is complete, print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly.
